Please join us as we discover how God Uses Everyday Things, Even a Pool Table, To Teach Us About Him.
Supporting Scriptures for "In The Beginning:" Genesis 1:1 Matthew 17:2 Revelation 1:14
During our last Billiards Bible Study entitled "Things That Teach," we learned how God can use everyday things, even a pool table, to teach us about Him. Beginning with this study, we are going to begin using pool table accessories to assist in telling a famous Bible story.
Consider the white cue ball used in the game of pool and think about how this ball might relate to the following verse found in Genesis 1:1.
"In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth."
The white cue ball can be a reminder of God. How do we picture God? Since we have only seen God in the person of Jesus Christ, let's see how Jesus was described when He showed Himself to be God.
In Matthew 17:2, we are told that Jesus was transfigured and his appearance changed so that His face shown like the sun, and His clothing became dazzling WHITE.
In Revelation 1:14, the Son of Man, who was Jesus, was described as follows: His head and His hair were WHITE like wool, as WHITE as snow.
So from these two verses alone, we have a reason for associating the color of WHITE with God.
