Supporting Scriptures for "Consequences Of Sin:" Genesis 3:8-19
In our Billiards Bible Study, Adam and his wife (represented by the number "1" and "2" solid billiard balls) gave in to the temptation suggested to them by the Devil (represented by the black "8" ball). They ate the fruit (represented by the pool chalk) from the tree that God (represented by the cue ball) told them not to eat from. As a result of eating the fruit, their lives were no longer pure and solid. Instead they were now striped by sin (represented by the number "9" and "10" billiard balls). Let's find out what happens next.
Pretty soon they heard God walking through the garden and He was calling for them. When Adam and the woman finally answered His calling and confessed the wrong that they had committed, God responded with four consequences. We will look at the first three consequences in this study.
The first consequence was directed to the serpent who was cursed to grovel in the dust for as long as he lived and also for he and the woman and his offspring and her offspring to be enemies forever.
The second consequence was directed toward the woman who would not only be cursed with intense pain when giving birth to a child, but she would also be required to live in a submissive attitude toward her husband with whom she lived.
The third consequence was directed to the man and his offspring who would now struggle and sweat to produce food from the ground which God was now cursing until the day that man and his offspring would die. And they would die, just as God had warned them, and when they died they would return to the dust of the earth from which God had created them.
