God Uses Everyday Things To Simply Tell Us His Plan. Consider The Weed, The Ruler, And The Chair.
A Weed
How do we get rid of a weed? We pull it out, roots and all! That is the same way that we get rid of sin growing in our lives. We pull it out by the roots and throw it out. (Hebrews 12:1)
A Ruler
How do we measure or draw a straight line? We use a ruler. The Bible is like a ruler. As we read and study God's Word, we can measure our progress and learn how to live a life aligned with God's will. (2 Peter 1:5-8)
A Chair
What do we use every time we sit in a chair? We use our faith to believe that it will hold us up. God has shown us through His Word that if we have faith in Him, He will hold us safely in His care for eternity. We exercise our faith every time we sit in a chair. Will you exercise your faith and believe in the one and only God of the universe? (Hebrews 11:1-3)
Thanks for visiting!
We hope that you have visited our various pages showing how God Uses Everyday Things to teach us about Him. Take our weed, ruler, and chair shown above. God has given us His beautiful creation to live in and just like a weed ruins a flower garden, our sin mars not only our world, but our individual lives. But how do we recognize a weed? Most of us recognize a weed naturally because it doesn't look like it belongs in the garden. However, sometimes we have to refer to a reference book written by the horticulturist in order to identify certain weeds.
The ruler, or God's Word, is our weed identifier. When our thoughts and actions in life do not measure up to what God teaches us in the Bible, we know that the weed of sin is in our lives and must be removed.
But we can't just sit back in our trusty man made chairs and think that our weeds of sin are just going to go away by themselves. No! We must make a choice to place our faith in the message of the Bible which teaches us that Jesus died on the cross in order to take away the weedy sins which we allow to grow in our lives.
Only Jesus, God's Son, has measured up to God's perfection and Jesus is now seated in heaven offering us eternal life with Him after our human bodies die if we choose to place our faith and trust in Him. You have faith to sit in a chair. Do you have faith to believe what God has taught us in the Bible?
The intent of this website is to weave God's truths through many everyday things that we take for granted. Jesus did this through the many stories, called parables, that He told when He lived here on earth. Please take a look through the various pages and add this site to your favorites as we are just getting started. Our hope is that there will be something new added next time you visit.
